Ovidiopol

A coastal urban-type settlement and the administrative center of the Ovidiopol Raion (district) in Odessa Oblast (region) of Ukraine, is placed on the bay of Dnistrovskyi Liman.
Ovidiopol was named in 1795 in memory of Ovid - Old Romain poet Publius Ovidius Naso ("Methamorthoses" and other poems), who lived somewhere here for a few years.

Population: 11,722 (2019).
